“The Importance of a Coordinator in International Joint Interdisciplinary Research”<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u25a0 Currently, as part of our commitment to the SDGs, our company is developing an audio reader (utilizing e-books and smartphones) aimed at addressing educational disparities among high school students in both urban and rural areas of Bangladesh.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This project, conducted as an international joint interdisciplinary research effort in collaboration with researchers from Bangladesh, involves experts from various fields. Consequently, the presence of a coordinator who can effectively manage teamwork across different cultures and disciplines is of utmost importance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In fact, there are numerous cases in international joint research where projects have collapsed despite securing ample funding, due to the absence of a coordinator.
The higher the degree of interdisciplinarity, the greater the likelihood of such outcomes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In this presentation, we will discuss the role played by the coordinator in this project, key considerations for managing highly interdisciplinary international projects, and how the coordinator has addressed various challenges and difficulties we have encountered.
This will be illustrated with multiple case examples.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The content of this presentation is expected to be valuable for Japanese companies operating overseas, providing insights into management methods when collaborating with local companies on
